Crispy Garlic Rice
In Brazilian cooking, Rice is typically served with beans, creating the iconic dish Arroz e Feijão, which is eaten daily across the country. It is also used as a base for many stews, such as Feijoada, grilled meats like Churrasco, , and seafood dishes. Rice is often prepared with a variety of seasonings; however, the most popular version is the Crispy Garlic Rice, which is rich and flavorful.

Ingredientes
- 2 Cups of basmati white rice (or any other type of your preference)
- 4 cloves of garlic (chopped or crushed)
- 6 spoons of cooking oil or olive oil
- 2 Cups of water
- Salt to taste
Equipments:
- Medium size pot
- Spatula
Instructions
- Prepare the Garlic:
Begin by chopping or crushing the garlic. - Sauté the Garlic:
Place a pan on the stove over medium heat. Add the oil and allow it to warm up slightly. Once the oil is ready, add the garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown. - Toast the Rice:
Add the rice to the pan and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking. - Add Water and Seasoning:
Pour water into the pan with the rice and add salt to taste. - Cook the Rice:
Keep the heat at medium and leave the lid slightly ajar. Watch the pot closely until the water on the surface of the rice has evaporated. - Simmer the Rice:
Once the water has dried up, close the lid completely and reduce the heat to low. Let the rice cook for 12 minutes. - Tip: Do not open the lid during the 12-minute cooking period. Opening it will disrupt the steaming process and alter the rice's texture.
